Essential Renter Requirements for Venture Car Rental
To rent a vehicle from Venture Car Rental, certain criteria must be met to ensure the safety and security of both our renters and our vehicles.
Age Restrictions
At Venture Car Rental, we require all renters and additional drivers to be 21 years of age or older. While we welcome younger drivers, renters between the ages of 21 and 24 are subject to an underage surcharge of $25 per day. This surcharge helps cover the increased insurance costs associated with younger drivers.
For renters aged 21 to 24, vehicle selection is slightly limited to Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and Compact, Small, and Standard SUVs with seating for up to 5 passengers. This ensures that younger drivers are operating vehicles that align with their driving experience.
Driver’s License Requirements
A valid driver’s license is mandatory for all renters and additional drivers. Learner’s permits or instructional permits are not accepted. This policy ensures that everyone operating a Venture Car Rental vehicle has demonstrated the necessary driving skills and legal authorization. Debit Card Usage for Venture Car Rental
Venture Car Rental understands that not everyone has a credit card. Therefore, we gladly accept debit cards under specific conditions:

Address Verification: The name and address on your driver’s license must match your current home address. This helps us verify your identity and prevent fraudulent rentals.

Location Proximity: Your address must be within 50 miles of the Venture Car Rental branch where you are renting, OR your driver’s license must be issued from the same state where the rental branch is located. These stipulations help manage risk and ensure vehicle security within our operating areas.

Additional Documentation: Renters using a debit card must present two forms of documentation confirming their current home address. Acceptable documents include:
- A utility bill (gas, electric, water)
- A cellular phone bill
- A paycheck or pay stub
- An original declaration page from an active auto insurance policy
These documents must be originals and dated within the last 30 days to ensure they are current.

Military Personnel Exemption: Active duty military personnel are exempt from the address requirements, recognizing their unique circumstances and mobility.
It’s important to note that when using a debit card, only the renter’s spouse or domestic partner can be listed as an additional driver. Renters utilizing debit cards are eligible to rent the same vehicle classes as those aged 21-24: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and Compact, Small, and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers.
Using a debit card for any rental charges will result in the funds being immediately deducted from your account. The estimated total for your Venture Car Rental will be charged to your chosen form of payment at the time of reservation or rental. If any modifications are made to your rental, the total amount may be adjusted accordingly, and the updated amount will be charged to the same payment method.
Upon rental, you will be required to sign a rental contract, which includes a Rental Agreement Summary and comprehensive Additional Terms and Conditions. Please review this contract carefully before signing.
Deposit Information for Venture Car Rental
To cover potential additional charges incurred during your rental period, Venture Car Rental requires a deposit.
Standard Deposit
A standard deposit of $300 is required for most vehicle classes. This deposit is held to cover any unforeseen costs such as extra mileage, late returns, or vehicle damage.
Higher Deposit for Premium Vehicles
For premium and luxury vehicles, including: Performance Sport, Full Size Luxury SUV, Electric Luxury SUV, Full Size Elite Electric Sedan, Midsize Sport Luxury Sedan, Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Limo Van, and Corvette, a higher deposit of $850 is required. This reflects the higher value and potential repair costs associated with these vehicles.
Deposit Refund and Additional Charges
The deposit amount will be held and will not be available for your use during the rental period. It will be refunded after the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. Please allow a few business days for the refund to process depending on your bank.
If any additional charges are incurred during your rental, they may be deducted from your deposit. If the additional charges exceed the deposit amount, or are not deducted from the deposit, they will be charged to the payment method provided at the time of rental, unless an alternative accepted payment method is provided.
Using a debit card for deposit or additional charges will result in immediate fund reduction, and renters are responsible for any overdraft fees.
Please note that money orders and prepaid cards are not accepted for the initial rental or deposit. However, they can be used to pay any outstanding balance at the end of the rental period upon vehicle return. Cash is not accepted at any Venture Car Rental locations.
For added convenience, credit cards listed on your Venture Car Rental loyalty profile (Emerald Club, E Club, etc.) can be used for all payments, including deposits and final charges.
All charges will be processed as authorizations against your credit or debit card, and then as final charges upon completion of the rental agreement.
Insurance Verification for Luxury Venture Car Rental
For renters choosing our luxury vehicle options, Venture Car Rental requires insurance verification at the time of rental. This applies to the following vehicle classes: Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Midsize Sport Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Electric Luxury SUV, Limo Van, and Corvette.
You must provide evidence of a transferable auto collision, comprehensive, and liability insurance policy that will extend coverage to the rented luxury vehicle. This ensures adequate financial protection in the event of an accident or damage.
