Dr. Jennifer Kohn, affectionately known as Dr. Jen, is a highly accomplished and compassionate optometrist at Moses Eye Care. Born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, her journey in eye care began with a strong foundation in science and a deep commitment to serving her community. Dr. Jen’s dedication to her patients and the field of optometry is evident in her extensive education, professional achievements, and ongoing advocacy work.

Dr. Jen’s academic excellence started at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she earned an honors degree in biology, alongside minors in chemistry and anthropology. Driven by her passion for eye health, she pursued and achieved her Optometric Doctorate from the prestigious Indiana School of Optometry in 2008. Even during her student years, Dr. Jen was proactive in advocating for her peers and the future of optometry, serving on the IU Student Organization committee and championing student and optometric rights in Washington, D.C.
Her commitment to patient well-being extends far beyond the clinic. Dr. Kohn actively participates in the Indiana Optometric Association as the Northwest Trustee, advocating for patient health and safety. Nationally, she contributes to the Federal Advocacy Committee with the American Optometric Association, working to protect and expand the legislative rights of optometrists. Dr. Jen was also a founding member of the Young Optometry Leadership Organization in Indiana, demonstrating her proactive approach to leadership within her profession. Furthermore, as a board member for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity in IL, she generously dedicates her time to providing essential eye care to underserved communities, showcasing her compassionate nature and dedication to accessible healthcare.
Dr. Jen’s exceptional contributions have been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Young Optometrist of the Year Award for Indiana in 2018, followed by the national Young Optometrist of the Year title in 2019. Adding to her credentials, she is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, signifying her advanced expertise and commitment to the highest standards in eye care.
Returning to her roots after graduation in 2008, Dr. Jen joined her father’s practice, Moses Eyecare. Starting with just four locations and doctors, she has been instrumental in its remarkable growth. Today, Moses Eye Care stands as a leading practice with 11 offices, 14 doctors, and a team of over 100 staff members, all focused on delivering cutting-edge patient care under Dr. Jen’s guidance and vision.
Outside of her professional life at Moses Eye Care, Dr. Jen enjoys an active lifestyle with outdoor sports, scuba diving, reading, and traveling. Most importantly, she cherishes spending quality time with her husband, Andrew, and their dog, Miller.
