Mercy Care integrates behavioral health clinicians into its primary care teams to provide comprehensive and seamless care. Patients are screened for depression, anxiety, addiction, and other behavioral health concerns. Upon identification of a mental health need, patients are immediately connected with a licensed clinician for further evaluation and recommendations. The behavioral health team also collaborates with Mercy Care psychiatrists for specialized referrals when necessary.
Important Notice: As of November 15, 2024, Mercy Care cannot diagnose or prescribe controlled substances for new adult patients with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD).

Substance Use Disorder Treatment with Mercy Care
Patients struggling with alcohol or drug dependency are encouraged to consult with Mercy Care’s certified addiction counselors. These counselors conduct thorough assessments and connect patients with ongoing support services, including addiction support groups, individual counseling, and peer support facilitated by a certified addiction recovery empowerment specialist. Mercy Care’s substance use disorder services are partially funded by a grant from the Amerigroup Foundation.
